The other day we came home to find the sheep and the goats wandering down the driveway.<\/p>\n

Sigh.<\/p>\n

We put them up without a lot of hassle.\u00a0 As a matter of fact I didn’t realize the real problem until the next day.<\/p>\n

Because there’s a ton of lush grass in the front yard to graze.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

And lots of overhanging branches to browse.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

There’s pampas grass to nibble.\u00a0 No one cares about the pampas grass.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Wouldn’t hurt to eat back the vinca vine.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Or the creeping jenny.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

But no.\u00a0 Instead of all the edibles that I don’t care about in the front yard,\u00a0 the goats and the sheep had to eat the hydrangea….<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

the roses….<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

the previously-3-feet-wide weigela….<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

the hibiscus that was loaded with buds just about to bloom….<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

the heads of all the lilies….<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

and, of course, my birthday magnolia.\u00a0 That was given to me several birthdays ago but has never gotten bigger than the size that it arrived because it is ruthlessly attacked during any and all escapes from the barnyard.<\/p>\n

This is why we can’t have anything nice, ladies.<\/p>\n
