We have to drive quite a ways to see a movie.<\/p>\n

And the closest mall isn’t close at all.<\/p>\n

Even if you decide to go those places, it might take a while.\u00a0 Because you’re bound to end up behind a farmer and his tractor.\u00a0 A decent hay rakes takes up a lane and half.\u00a0 If he’s moving the harvester combine, better just find another way.\u00a0 You’re not passing that baby on the two lane roads without a shoulder that we have out here.<\/p>\n

But it’s worth it.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Today the kids and I went to a friend’s house to visit.\u00a0\u00a0 She gave me a cup of coffee and some lovely adult conversation in the shade of the crape myrtle.<\/p>\n

We discovered a wren’s nest near the lawn furniture and peered in at the delicate eggs. \u00a0 My daughter loved on her minifoal, Maggie May, while the boys tore around the the property on motorized vehicles.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>I brought her a couple zucchini and my favorite zucchini bread recipe.\u00a0 She sent us home with bags full of fresh, ripe peaches. I got the better end of the deal, don’t you think?<\/p>\n

I told her that she can come over with her kids next week.\u00a0 The kids can romp with the latest goat kid and help pick blackberries.<\/p>\n

No mall or movies needed.<\/p>\n

It’s what we do.\u00a0 Welcome to the country.<\/p>\n
