There’s a lot of beauty in the wilderness.\u00a0 But when the pasture along the farm drive starts to look like this…<\/p>\n

…it’s time for a little clean-up.\u00a0 Which is kind of a shame.\u00a0 Because although my bushhogging team is effective and inexpensive, they are not too discriminatory.\u00a0 So along with all the brush and vines, they will also tear up these lovelies:<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

There’s some interesting foliage, too:<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I took some pictures in order to preserve all this native charm.\u00a0 And I plan to sit down and identify all this flora on…, well, probably next week…or maybe…sometime…after I…huh.\u00a0 Maybe y’all can just let me know if you can identify some of it and then I’ll label it appropriately.\u00a0 Right now I’m too busy watching the bushhogging.\u00a0 Here they come!<\/p>\n

Calico Jack works on the groundcover.<\/p>\n

Together the bucks can even pull down the scrub pine that has tried to take over.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

All in all, it is exciting to watch.\u00a0 Or at least exciting for around here.\u00a0 We’re not New York City, you know.\u00a0 And best of all, this particular flower is found all over the property.<\/p>\n

So even if the goats gobble up all of them in the pasture, there are still some in the perennial bed and around the split-rail fence and by the mailbox and in the ditch and on the pond dam and…well, you get the idea.\u00a0 After all, it just wouldn’t be summer without them.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
