Arrivals."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Animals are supposed to know what season is best to rear their young.\u00a0 Some kind of biological clock that tells them when the days are getting longer, the sun is getting warmer, and there is an abundant feed supply.\u00a0 Apparently, the animals around here have lost their watches.\u00a0 Oh sure, the goats can blame me for this year&#8217;s late deliveries because I am the Gate Keeper to the buck pen.\u00a0 Although, the Gate Keeper&#8217;s authority only barely exceeds that of the the Fence Jumper:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ruffledfeathersandspilledmilk.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/109.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-3000\" water fowl have only themselves to blame.<\/p>\n<p>I told Blackbeard she was on her own with these new arrivals.<\/p>\n<p><a 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It was just a coincidence that she happened to be in the pasture pen giving them a drink from the automatic waterer and I just happened to close the door.\u00a0 I wasn&#8217;t trying to separate them so she could give them a few days to eat and drink in peace from the rest of the flock.<\/p>\n<p>And this guinea is crazy if she thinks I am going to help out with 12 keets born in October.\u00a0 It was just an accident when that food spilled out of the scoop in the back corner of the chicken pen where only she and her crew help Rebecca get her brood out of this planter on the deck.\u00a0 After all, I still had hard feelings about how she smashed down my petunias to set there.<\/p>\n<p><a food&#8230;..sigh.\u00a0 I guess this is why it happens.\u00a0 They don&#8217;t need a biological clock.\u00a0 They have me.\u00a0 And they know I am a sucker for mommas and babies.\u00a0 But I&#8217;ll tell you one thing.\u00a0 If these guys think I&#8217;m going to heat the water in the fountain on the deck for a bunch of tadpoles, they&#8217;ve got another thing coming.\u00a0 I mean, tadpoles in October!\u00a0 C&#8217;mon.\u00a0 Sometimes it just comes down to survival of those born in the spring time.<\/p>\n<p><a
