If you haven’t heard already, it’s National Doughnut Day.\u00a0 Which coincided with the arrival of Tropical Storm Andrea and hours and hours of hard rain.\u00a0 Also simultaneous with the last day of school.\u00a0 The perfect storm.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

So what’s a mom to do when it’s pouring rain, the kids are out of school, and it’s National Doughnut Day?<\/p>\n

Don’t even think about it, Cat.\u00a0 I just picked this place up.\u00a0 And it’s probably the last time the house will be clean for the next 3 months.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Of course, we headed to the local doughnut shops for free doughnuts.\u00a0 Dunkin’ Donuts did require a drink purchase in order to get a free doughnut. \u00a0 Good thing I’ve got a coupon for that .\u00a0 \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

But Krispy Kreme handed out a free doughnut, no purchase required, no questions asked.\u00a0\u00a0 God bless America.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

That’s right—-we doubled down on the free doughnuts.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

After all, we were celebrating the last day of the school,\u00a0 the fact that all 4 kids made straight A’s,….<\/p>\n

….and the fact that The Other Half had to attend 2 school awards ceremonies and I only had to attend 1.\u00a0 Boo yah.<\/p>\n
