Internet Safety

Posted on | December 7, 2010 | 5 Comments

Apparently there are signs that your kids are spending too much time on the computer.  There are ways to know if they are too involved in social networking sites.  Methods of stopping them from sexting.  Means of protecting them from cyberbullying.  I don’t know about any of those things.

I do know that there are signs that your kids have limited screen time.  Very limited screen time.  So limited that they have to do this:

That’s a computer that I spotted in their fort when I was outside filling up the bird feeders.

They even carefully drew in the keyboard.

Which explains why my fine point Sharpie has a frayed stub instead of a tip.  I was wondering about that.

Perhaps my duct tape and garden twine will resurface soon.  Now that they’re done making the mouse.

Unless they’re building themselves a flat screen television down by the pond.

Never can tell what kids will do when they’re offline.

Which is exactly why we keep them that way around here. 🙂

I am so impressed by their ingenuity. Really impressed. Isn’t it 30 degrees there now? Wow. They are going to be engineers someday..

Well, at least you find amusement in their frustration.
