    “‘An’ Hallelujah”?

    I like it.

Um, that’s too many capitals and too many quotation marks, now I can’t tell what I did wrong. Thank goodness I have a friend with a PhD to point it out. PHD? Ph.D? 🙂

Aren’t the first fruits always the best of the season? I’m still waiting…

OK no Ph.D here, but I think Andrew was meaning to call your attention to the use of ‘an’ instead of ‘a’ before a word starting with a consonant instead of a vowel. HOWEVER, when I was going to school we were taught to use ‘an’ in front of words with a soft sound for h such as hour, honesty or in this case Hallelujah.

Although the rule has now been disregarded, I still prefer the less abrupt sound (and feel) of ‘an’ in front of soft ‘h’ sounds.

And if you won’t hate me forever… your end punctuation is always inside the quotation marks.

    xo,
    Lynda
    PS: I’m sorry, but I couldn’t help myself I’m a retired school teacher. 😉
