Beach Day.

Is there anything better than a day at the beach….
when the water is crystal clear (so you can see the sharks before they see you)….
there’s not a bit of undertow….
and there is a long sandy shelf stretching out into the ocean that allows you to catch big waves even when the water is only knee deep?
A day full of sea gulls….
sandcastles….
and being buried in the sand?
Time spent sitting in a chair in the surf….
riding a new wave board….
and hanging out with a friend?
Let’s not forget the ice cream on the pier.
Oh wait, I think there is a day better than that. A day at the beach with all those things….right after the last day of school.
Congratulations, kiddos! School’s out for summer. Let the good times roll!

Wait, is this a Ruffled Feathers post? No disasters? Not even a sandy ice cream cone? An attacking seagull? You must have been stupefied by the gently rolling waves. Or sun addled. Whatever, I’m so glad you had a perfect day.

You North Carolineans and your “beach day” photos. 😉
So, where are the “big waves”?

I know it’s not the North Shore but 4′ waves are the “big waves” when you’re 9 years old. Any higher and I’d have to make them wear their life jackets—which would have put some dorky into their day!
